The Category 2 hurricane was moving northwest at 5 mph and was expected to weaken in the next 48 hours as it advances over cooler waters east of Newfoundland, the forecast said.

The seventh hurricane of the 2012 Atlantic season that ends Nov. 30 didn't pose any threat to the coastal United States or Canada.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Leslie was moving northward Sunday as Bermuda declared a storm warning.
