AURORA, Colo., July 20 (UPI) -- One of the moviegoers killed in Aurora, Colo., Friday had blogged that she had a close call just weeks earlier when gunfire erupted at a Toronto shopping mall.
Jessica Ghawi, an aspiring sportscaster who used the name Jessica Redfield professionally, had written on her blog that she had left Toronto's Eaton Centre during a visit last month just minutes before a shooting that left one person dead and four injured, The Denver Post reported.
"This empty, almost sickening feeling won't go away," she wrote. "I noticed this feeling when I was in the Eaton Centre in Toronto just seconds before someone opened fire in the food court. An odd feeling which led me to go outside and unknowingly out of harm's way. It's hard for me to wrap my mind around how a weird feeling saved me from being in the middle of a deadly shooting."
She later wrote that she "felt nauseous."

"Who would go into a mall full of thousands of innocent people and open fire? Is this really the world we live in?" she wrote.
A friend, Cheryl Bradley, said Ghawi, who was among the 12 people killed and 59 wounded at a movie theater in Aurora, Colo., was "smart, friendly, and amazing."
"A red head through and through, she was a ball of energy and fire, with a quick wit and an infectious personality," Bradley wrote.
Shortly before she was killed, Ghawi tweeted she was attending a midnight showing of the latest Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises."
"Never thought I'd have to coerce a guy into seeing the midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises with me," she posted.
Ghawi, who was originally from San Antonio, was interning at a radio station and recently had received press credentials from the Colorado Avalanche.
