LOS ANGELES, May 30 (UPI) -- A porn movie was shot on the field of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, it was revealed Wednesday.

The iconic stadium, where Super Bowls have been played, Olympics have been staged and Pope John Paul II celebrated a mass, was also the site of the filming of "The Gangbang Girl #32," the Los Angeles Times said in a report on a corruption case involving financial irregularities and lax oversight by the stadium's nine-person governing committee.

The film, involving actors dressed as football players and cheerleaders and featuring group sex scenes on the football field, was shot on Sept. 16, 2001, the movie's end credits say.

"I've made movies for about 20 years and I've done a lot of things, but that one really stands out. I mean, who gets to have sex on the floor of the Coliseum?" recalled "Mr. Marcus," one of the film's stars.

The stadium sits on California state land and is jointly run by the city, county and state, the newspaper said. Although agencies such as the California Department of Parks and Recreation prohibit pornographic movie shoots on the properties they control, a spokesman for the California Attorney General's Office said he did not know if it is illegal to shoot porn on state property.

The Times said it was unable to reach a representative of the movie's production company, Anabolic Video.
