DAYTON, Ohio, Feb. 29 (UPI) -- An Ohio man has been charged with sexually assaulting three adopted children, officials said Wednesday.
Kenneth Brandt, 39, of Troy was arrested Friday, the Dayton Daily News reported. Police in Troy allege he raped three of the four children in his custody and allowed two men to have sex with the fourth.
June Cannon, executive director of Miami County Children's Services, said Brandt worked with Action Inc., a private adoption agency in Dayton. The children were from Texas.
Brandt's mother now has custody of the children, Cannon said. One, who has not yet been legally adopted, will probably be returned to Texas.
Before his arrest, Brandt had no criminal record. He was on the board of the Troy Junior Basketball Association.
"It's beyond my comprehension," said Jeff Price, the association's president. "You don't expect these things to happen so close to home."
