Students find Facebook photos on porn site

CHARLTON, Mass., Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Police in Charlton, Mass., said Wednesday they are investigating the copying of high school students' Facebook photos onto a child pornography Web site.

The photographs were taken from Facebook sites and reproduced on the foreign-based Web site, Lt. Carl Ekman of the Town of Charlton Police Department said.

"All of the girls were fully clothed in the photographs, but we are urging the utmost caution and appropriate privacy settings on the part of students with Facebook accounts," he said.

"This site definitely includes kiddie porn," he added.

The 17 affected students attend Bay Path Vocational Technical School in Charlton, in western Massachusetts.

The Worcester office of the FBI and the Worcester County District Attorney's Office are involved in the investigation.

Lt. Ekman said the FBI is pursuing numerous similar sites and there is no guarantee the Web site can be closed down. Limiting access to a Facebook page is the best safeguard, he said.
