Two Delta baggage handlers at LAX arrested

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Two Delta Airlines employees were arrested for allegedly stealing more than $100,000 in cash and other items from passenger luggage in Los Angeles, police said.

The two men, a baggage handler and a former baggage handler at Los Angeles International Airport, were arrested Thursday, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The men, whose names were not released, were taken into custody after authorities searched their homes and allegedly seized more than $100,000 in cash and stolen property, police said.

Authorities are investigating whether the thefts were part of a crime ring targeting passengers at the airport, the newspaper said.
