CHICAGO, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Four teenagers allegedly disabled a Chicago Transit Authority bus before beating and robbing passengers, prosecutors said.
At a bond hearing Sunday, prosecutors said the teenagers disabled the bus Saturday by using a control switch on the bus's exterior, which caused the bus to stop and the lights go out, the Chicago Tribune reported.
After disabling the bus, the teenagers allegedly stole an iPhone, a watch and $7 and abused passengers before leaving
Darius Love and Anthony Williams, both 17, were among the four teenagers who were arrested Sunday. A 43-year-old witness was able to identify all four teens.
Love was charged with felony robbery and misdemeanor battery, while Williams was charged with attempted robbery and battery.
CTA spokeswoman Molly Sullivan said transit officials are investigating the incident.
"We do not have any details about that at this time," Sullivan said. "We are investigating the whole situation."
