Teen attack posted on YouTube

CHICAGO, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Chicago Police said they are investigating the robbery and beating of a teenage boy that was posted on YouTube, apparently by one of his attackers.

The beating of the 17-year-old by several unknown male assailants took place in the Bridgeport neighborhood Sunday afternoon, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday.

Officer Daniel O'Brien said the boy was released from the hospital after being treated for a laceration to his lip, bruising and abrasions.

The attackers stole his gym shoes, wallet and money, O'Brien said.

He said the video posted on YouTube "matches pretty closely" what happened to the victim.

It shows five males, one of them who appears to be the ringleader, kicking the victim while he is lying on the ground.

As of late Monday, no suspects were in custody, the Tribune reported.
