Police: Boy, 14, broke into Georgia bank

SMYRNA, Ga., Jan. 11 (UPI) -- A 14-year-old boy was held Wednesday after he broke into a Smyrna, Ga., bank through a window in the middle of the night, drawing a SWAT team, police said.

Police responded just after 2 a.m. to motion-sensing alarms and a camera that showed someone inside the Wells Fargo bank, Cobb County police spokesman Mike Bowman told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Officers set up a perimeter outside the bank and brought in a SWAT team. A bomb squad robot helped check the building.

Police saw the teen climbing out pf the same back window through which he broke in, Bowman said.

The boy was arrested and charged with burglary. He was being held at the Marietta Regional Youth Detention Center, Bowman said.
