ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Sept. 24 (UPI) -- The third suspect in a deadly carjacking in a parking garage at a casino in Atlantic City, N.J., was arrested Friday, investigators said.
Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel said agents with the federal marshal's fugitive task force arrested Raheem Simmons, 18, in Camden, The Press of Atlantic City reported. Simmons, like Eric Darden and Phillip Byrd, both 20 and both Camden residents, faces charges that include felony murder, carjacking and kidnapping.
All three are being held in lieu of $1 million bail. Investigators describe them as members of a Camden street gang, the Fruit Town Brim Bloods.
Investigators say the three suspects accosted Sunil Rattu, 28, of Old Bridge and his girlfriend, Radha Ghetia, 24, of Parlin, in the garage about 8 a.m. Sunday. They allegedly forced Rattu to drive them to a nearby alley where he was shot twice in the head.
Ghetia was wounded and is now out of the hospital.
Byrd was arrested Tuesday in Camden, a day after Housel released tape from security cameras showing the three suspects at the Taj and in other locations around casinos. Simmons surrendered with his lawyer Thursday.
