N.C. terror suspect pleads guilty

RALEIGH, N.C., Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Dylan Boyd, a North Carolina man accused of conspiring to wage jihad, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting the act of conspiracy Wednesday in federal court.

Boy, 24, was arrested in 2009 along with his father Daniel Patrick Boyd, brother Zakariya Boyd and four others after federal agents discovered a plot to attack government facilities in the United States and overseas. FBI agents found about two dozen guns and more than 27,000 rounds of ammunition in the Boyds' home.

Under te4rms of the plea deal, Dylan faces as much as 15 years in prison, a fine of as much as $1 million and three years of probation when he is sentenced in December, The (Raleigh, N.C.) News & Observer reported.

A trial will begin in less than a week for three of the accused. Daniel Patrick Boyd and Zakariya Boyd have pleaded guilty to conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists.

Daniel Patrick Boy, who also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to "murder, kidnap, maim and injure people in a foreign country," is expected to be a key witness in next week's trial.
