Mom turns in son for purse snatching

MIAMI, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- A 13-year-old boy who allegedly snatched a purse from an elderly woman was turned into police by his mother, Miami police said.

The boy's mother said she recognized her son on surveillance video that was aired on TV, showing the boy running with a red purse just minutes after the alleged attack on a 78-year-old woman outside a downtown Miami metrorail station, The Miami Herald reported Wednesday.
