DETROIT, July 11 (UPI) -- A gunman shot and wounded five people at a high school reunion in Detroit in an attack similar to one at another school two weeks ago, police said Monday.
Around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, a fight broke out at the Cooley High School reunion, held on a football field, and a man fired into the crowd from a vehicle, Sgt. Eren Stephens, a police spokeswoman, told The Detroit News.
The wounded -- a 15-year-old boy, two 18-year-olds, a 26-year-old and a 41-year-old, all male -- were in serious condition.
Stephens said a suspect was in custody but did not name him.
In the other incident Desean Barlow, 22, and Jerome Pegler, 19, were charged with several felonies after gunshots were fired into a crowd June 26 at Mackenzie High School's reunion, police said. A 54-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were seriously wounded.
