More victims of serial killer found

NEW YORK, April 5 (UPI) -- Three more sets of human remains have been discovered on a beach in Long Island, N.Y., near the spot where five victims were found earlier, police said.

Authorities began combing the beach last year as part of the search for a missing New Jersey prostitute who still has not been found, The New York Times reported Tuesday.

Four of the victims discovered earlier were young women in their 20s and all had advertised their services on Craigslist.

A fifth victim, who remains unidentified, was discovered last week about a mile east of where the first four bodies were found.

An extensive search of that area turned up three more sets of human remains Monday on the north side of Ocean Parkway between Gilgo Beach and Oak Beach, Suffolk County Police Commissioner Richard Dormer said.

Dormer told the New York Post the search for more bodies will continue.

Authorities say they believe a serial killer was responsible for all of the victims.
