Kraft-Oscar Mayer workers win case

WASHINGTON, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- The U.S. Supreme Court Monday let stand a lower-court ruling that means employees of Kraft-Oscar Mayer will be getting extra money.

The justices refused to review a case in which the lower court ruled for Kraft-Oscar Mayer workers, who said they should be paid for the time spent putting on and taking off special clothes and equipment daily for their jobs, the Wisconsin State Journal reported.

The Journal reported attorney Jim Olson in Madison, Wis., said about 1,300 current and former employees should share about $4 million in back pay.

Kraft-Oscar Mayer officials were not immediately available for comment, the newspaper said.
