Barbara Bush to Palin: Stay in Alaska

HOUSTON, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Former first lady Barbara Bush had some words of advice for Tea Party darling Sarah Palin -- Bush hopes Palin stays in Alaska.

In an interview with CNN's Larry King set to air Monday, Bush, 85, said, ""I sat next to her once, thought she was beautiful. And I think she's very happy in Alaska -- and I hope she'll stay there," The Washington Post reported.

In the same interview, her husband, President George H.W. Bush, 86, said he is "confused" by the Tea Party, and he doesn't "know what it really is." But, he conceded, "some of [their] ideas make a lot of sense," the Post reported.

Palin, the former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate, has been increasingly vocal about her purported plans to test the presidential waters in 2012, saying she thinks she could beat President Barack Obama.
