More dead greyhounds found in Florida

EBRO, Fla., Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Investigators in Florida said they are trying to determine if the bodies of dead greyhounds found under a bridge are related to an on-going case.

A juvenile found the decomposing carcasses just inside the Walton County line Sunday, and animal control officials said the dogs could be linked to a Washington County case in which a man was charged with animal cruelty, The Walton Sun in Santa Rosa Beach reported.

In that case, 36-year-old dog trainer Ronnie Williams was arrested Friday and charged with 37 counts of animal cruelty after dozens of dead and emaciated greyhounds were found at Ebro Greyhound Park last week.

Williams' home is about a half mile from where the dead dogs were found Sunday.

"Is (Williams) a potential suspect?" asked Walton County Sheriff's Office public information officer Mike Morrison. "We are exploring that avenue."
