Three police killed in Yemen attack

SANA'A, Yemen, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Three policemen were killed and two wounded in a terrorist attack in the city of Zinjobar in southern Yemen's Abyan province, officials said.

Local sources said attackers believed to be al-Qaida attacked a police patrol near a market after evening prayers Wednesday, Yemen's official state news agency Saba reported.

Police patrols pursued the attackers who fled after the shooting, Saba said.

As a precaution, security forces in Abyan tightened their security measures around buildings and vital facilities in the province against possible additional terrorist attacks, officials said.
