Road rage ends in 2 deaths

SACRAMENTO, March 23 (UPI) -- A California woman said a man who chased their vehicle in apparent road rage ended up killing her boyfriend and then himself.

Jean Williams told police after a cat-and-mouse chase along a curvy mountain, the man stopped his vehicle beside their truck near Placerville, Calif., and shot through the window, mortally wounding her boyfriend Jack Eugene Larson, the Sacramento Bee reported.

The assailant then asked her "Did I get him?" and turned the gun on himself, the report said. Police said they found the assailant, Jenson Cornelius Kohutek, dead in a burgundy Toyota truck. Larson was found severely wounded in a green Toyota sport-utility vehicle and transported to Marshall Hospital, where he died, the Bee said.

Williams told police neither she nor Larson knew Kohutek.

Williams and Larson shared a home in Grizzly Flat, southeast of Placerville.

She said they were pursued by the motorist who came out of nowhere and made obscene gestures. "He started playing little games with us," she told the Bee. "He'd come up real close, flash his lights. Then pass us."
