Suspect in Florida lotto case had record

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- A Florida woman suspected in the disappearance of lottery winner Abraham Shakespeare had a previous brush with law enforcement, records indicate.

Dorice "DeeDee" Moore, 37, filed a false crime report in 2001 to keep a credit union from repossessing her Lincoln Navigator, the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times reports.

Moore is accused by Hillsborough and Polk County authorities of covering up the killing of Shakespeare and convincing his family he was still alive.

Files reviewed by the Times indicate Moore pleaded no contest and was sentenced to a year's probation in June 2001 for reporting she had been carjacked, kidnapped and sexually assaulted at gunpoint.

A Pasco County man told police Moore promised him $500 to store the Lincoln Navigator in a garage on his property, the newspaper reported Tuesday.

The files also indicate Moore was the subject of an internal fraud investigation by Nextel, which banned her from selling the company's products.
