WASHINGTON, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- A Web site for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was hacked on Tuesday to display a message calling on God to take the Iranian leader.

Radio Free Liberty/Radio Europe reports the Web site, ahmadinejad.ir, was down Tuesday following the display of a message apparently from a computer hacker.

"Dear God, In 2009 you took my favorite singer -- Michael Jackson, my favorite actress -- Farrah Fawcett, my favorite actor -- Patrick Swayze, my favorite voice -- Neda (Agha-Soltan)," the message read. "Please, please, don't forget my favorite politician -- Ahmadinejad and my favorite dictator -- Khamenei in the year 2010. Thank you."

A video on YouTube showed Neda Agha-Soltan killed by an unknown gunman during June riots in Iran.

In December a group calling itself the Iranian Cyber Army claimed responsibility for an attack on the popular social networking page Twitter. The group claimed it was responsible for redirecting traffic from Twitter to a Web page displaying anti-American statements.

"U.S.A. Think They Controlling And Managing Internet By Their Access, But They Don't, We Control And Manage Internet By Our Power," the message from the ICA read.

Iranian authorities in the wake of unrest sparked by contested June presidential elections cut Internet traffic and barred foreign journalists from covering events. Protesters turned to YouTube to upload video of the protests taken from their cellular phones.
