According to a news release from Adnkronos, Italy's paramilitary police were conducting an investigation into the suspects and had identified a "serious threat."

Officials say one of the suspects from Tunisia was picked up in Caltanissetta, Sicily, and three others in the group -- an Algerian, a Moroccan and another Tunisian -- are already in jail.

Police authorities say the fifth suspect in the alleged terrorism plot, another Moroccan individual, is still at large.
