Mugabe party joins Zimbabwe unity team

HARARE, Zimbabwe, Jan. 30 (UPI) -- The decision by Morgan Tsvangirai, head of The Movement for Democratic Change, to join a Zimbabwe unity government drew his party's backing Friday.

The MDC joins President Robert Mugabe's ZANU party and a rival MDC faction led by Arthur Mutambara in a power-sharing coalition ending an eight-month stalemate, SW Radio Africa reported.
