N.Y. madam miffed that Spitzer skated

NEW YORK, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- A former madam chided the government for not prosecuting former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer.

Kristin Davis, known as the Manhattan Madam, was released from custody Thursday after being sentenced to time served on charges stemming from the escort services she ran in New York.

Davis, 32, wasn't charged in connection with the call-girl scandal that drove Spitzer from office but the New York Daily News said she was caught up in the city's subsequent crackdown on escort services.

"I think it's hypocritical of the government that they're not prosecuting him," Davis said as she left the courthouse, adding that the escorts would still be available in New York.

"Taking my business away is not going to make much of a dent in the industry," Davis said. "It might scare some people but not many."
