Men allegedly had 18 pounds of cocaine

INDIANAPOLIS, April 21 (UPI) -- Three California men who allegedly were caught with 18 pounds of cocaine were held in an Indiana jail Monday after their arrest on Interstate 70, police said.

The Indianapolis Star reported that the men were arrested after the semi-truck they were traveling in was pulled over for having no license plates. The men were held in lieu of $100,000 bond each.

Deputies found the cocaine above a light fixture in the truck cab, and $5,500 in cash, Sheriff's Capt. Brett Clark said in a statement.

The men were identified as Edgar Ladislao Bracamonte, 34, Corona, Calif.; Jorge Gutierrez, 36, Hesperia, Calif.; and Ernesto Alejandro Morenosoto, 28, Hesperia, Calif., the newspaper reported.

They face charges of dealing cocaine, a Class A felony, and possession of cocaine, a Class C felony.
