Prosecutors charged that Taylor molested his victims at two schools where he worked -- Martin Luther King Learning Academy and Buchanan Elementary School -- as well as at the Blythefield Hills Baptist Church, at his home in Rockford and on a camping trip. The jury convicted him of 12 of the 15 counts lodged against him.

"I'm overjoyed by the verdict," said a woman who had two sons among the victims. "This has been long overdue."

Fil Iorio, Taylor's attorney, said the verdict would be appealed. He said the boys were unreliable witnesses with big discrepancies in their testimony.

Taylor's father proclaimed his son's innocence.
