JENIN, Gaza, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- A Palestinian terror leader in the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades said Tuesday more attacks similar to those of Sept. 11, 2001, are in store for the United States.
In an interview with WorldNetDaily in Jenin, Abu Muhammad criticized the United States for not getting the Muslim message the first time.
"They deserve one more coup of this kind (like 9/11), and I am sure it is only a question of time," he said. "Sept. 11 was the beginning of the collapse of this empire of evil."
He said the U.S. response to the al-Qaida attacks only invited more.
"Instead of asking themselves the right questions about why this happened, the Americans occupied Iraq and Afghanistan," he said.
The al-Aqsa Brigades is the military wing of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah party. While the U.S. government considers the Hamas party and its military arm a terrorist organization, it largely considers Fatah and its security branches to be "moderate," the report said.
