Afghan president tours Iran

TEHRAN, May 28 (UPI) -- Afghan President Hamid Karzai paid tribute to the late Ayatollah Khomeini, laying a wreath on his grave during a ceremony in Tehran.

The Islamic Republic News Agency said Karzai arrived in Tehran Saturday at the invitation of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Karzai was scheduled meet with his Iranian counterpart, Parliament Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel and Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki. The news service said the leaders would discuss bilateral, regional and international issues.
