Jordan's king calls al-Qaida 'insane'

AMMAN, Jordan, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Jordanian King Abdullah II says the Iraqi al-Qaida bombers who struck three hotels this week are "insane," and vowed to take the fight to them.

In an interview with CNN, the king suggested Jordan alone would not independently hunt down the al-Qaida leader in Iraq, Jordanian-born Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. His group claimed responsibility for the Wednesday attacks on a Web site.

"Obviously we are going to crack down and take the fight to Zarqawi, but this is part of our coalition" he said. "He is using foreigners. That means that our security forces have to change tactics, also."

The three near-simultaneous bombings killed 57 people, including 38 at a wedding reception at the Radisson Hotel. The Iraqi al-Qaida Web site said a husband and wife suicide team were responsible for that blast, which Abdullah said was disgusting.

"To see a wedding procession and to take your wife or your spouse with you into that wedding and blow yourself up -- these people are insane," he said.
