Hill drops recount in Indiana's 9th

INDIANAPOLIS, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- U.S. Rep. Baron Hill, D-Ind., has ended a recount of ballots from the Nov. 2 election that showed him losing to Republican challenger Mike Sodrel.

The second count in six of the counties in Indiana's 9th Congressional District showed Hill could not overcome the 1,400 vote lead Sodrel posted on Election Day, the Indianapolis Star said Friday.
