Fox to push Bush on migration at APEC

MEXICO CITY, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Mexico President Vicente Fox said Wednesday he will meet with U.S. President George W. Bush in Chile during the economic summit of Pacific Rim nations.

The meeting, expected to be short, will occur Sunday during the Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, which opens Friday in the Santiago, according to Fox spokesman Agustin Gutierrez Canet.

Gutierrez said Fox plans to insist on a migratory agreement between both countries.

"For Mexico that is the priority of its relationship with the United States," Gutierrez said. "Fox hopes that President Bush pushes it in the Congress."

Fox will also talk with Bush about his interest in visiting Washington in January, perhaps after Bush begins his second term on Jan. The Mexican president reportedly plans to invite Bush to visit Mexico next year.
