Fox praises NAFTA in Panama

PANAMA CITY, Panama, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Mexican President Vicente Fox Wednesday praised the success of the North America Free Trade Agreement.

Speaking to a group of Mexican and Panamanian businessmen, Fox said trade is the best formula for development.

He made the statement during the last day of his two-day visit to Panama. Fox also said that to consolidate economic stability in a country, public policies supporting trade need to be permanent. But he said it is also important to avoid urgency in making changes, and to wait until public policies mature.
