Police raided Jackson aide's home

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Santa Barbara, Calif., authorities raided Michael Jackson's personal assistant's home reportedly looking for evidence in the pop star's child molestation case.

Information about the Sept. 15 search was made public in newly released court documents that said the pop singer's defense team filed an emergency revision to a search warrant the next day asking that all seized items be placed under seal, CNN reported Friday.

The defense attorneys argued the prosecution may have violated client-attorney privileges by taking the items.

Judge Rodney Melville approved the defense's request.

Sheriff officials reportedly took "a fax sent on behalf of the client to his lawyer regarding possible trial witnesses" and three folders labeled "Mesereau," said Robert Sanger, one of Jackson's defense attorneys.

The "Mesereau" folders allegedly refer to Tom Mesereau, another Jackson defense lawyer.

The court document is scheduled to be placed in the public file Monday.

The next court hearing in the Jackson case is set for Oct. 14.

Jackson's trial is slated to begin in January.
