LONDON, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Britain's Prince William found an almost Solomonic solution to the question of which of two English women will share his holiday time: he chose a U.S. woman.
The 22-year-old prince was believed to be eager to travel with his student girlfriend, Kate Middleton, this summer. But he also had been invited to visit Jecca Craig, a beauty from Kenya who was guest of honor at his 21st birthday celebration, the Daily Mirror reported Tuesday. Royal watchers were curious how the heir to the throne would solve his dilemma.
As it turned out, he accepted an invitation from U.S. heiress Anna Sloan to visit her family's estate in Nashville, Tenn., for a week.
A Sloan family spokesman said William and Anna were classmates in Scotland, and her father and William's mother were riding companions in Britain many years ago.
"Theirs is strictly a friendship -- there was nothing romantic going on," said the spokesman. "He was here with a few classmates and came across as a nice, normal guy."
