GOP's Voinovich has big lead in Ohio

CLEVELAND, June 1 (UPI) -- Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio, holds a commanding lead over his likely Democrat opponent, former U.S. Rep. Eric Fingerhut, in the race for U.S. Senate.

In the latest Mason-Dixon poll, conducted May 20 to 25 for the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the former Ohio governor led Fingerhut by 21 points, 55 percent to 24 percent, among 1,500 registered voters surveyed. The remaining 21 percent of those queried said they were undecided.

The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.6 percent.
