Bush taps Korologos for Belgium post

WASHINGTON, May 13 (UPI) -- President George W. Bush nominated longtime Washington lobbyist Tom Korologos Thursday to be the new U.S. ambassador to Belgium.

Until recently, Korologos has been in Baghdad serving as senior counselor to Amb. L. Paul Bremer, the head of the Coalition Provisional Authority. A former member of the federal government's Broadcasting Board of Governors and former chairman of the U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy, Korologos previously served as president of Timmons and Company, a Washington-based consulting and lobbying firm he co-founded in 1975.
