Braun running for president

CHICAGO, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- The first black woman ever elected to the U.S. Senate Tuesday announced her intention to seek the Democratic presidential nomination. Carol Moseley Braun, who lost her bid for re-election in 1998 to Sen. Peter Fitzgerald, R-Ill., said she has formed an exploratory committee for a presidential run.
