Congress examines money laundering

WASHINGTON, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Describing currency as having the potential to be "as lethal as a bullet," Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill Wednesday joined several law enforcement and federal authorities in asking a House committee to pass stronger anti-money laundering laws. Financial industry officials also testified in support of reforms to bolster enforcement, but remain concerned about privacy.
