Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Paul Pogba scored two near-post goals in the second half of Manchester United's 3-1 win against Huddersfield Wednesday at Old Trafford in Manchester, England.

The scores came in the 64th and 78th minutes in the Premier League clash, building on the Red Devils' 1-0 halftime edge.

Nemanja Matic scored United's first goal of the match in the 28th minute. United took a free kick just outside of the box to start the sequence. Pogba lifted the kick against the wall, sending it out of bounds for a corner kick.

Defender Victor Lindelof headed the service toward the near post. The shot was blocked and sent to the far post, where Matic was able to tap it in for a score.

Neither side netted another score until Pogba netted his first goal of the match. The French midfielder received a ball from Ander Herrera as he was hovering at the top of the box. Herrera slid the short pass to Pogba, who waited for the ball to come to his right boot before he blasted it inside the near post, beating a diving Jonas Lossl.

Jesse Lingard assisted Pogba's next goal. Pogba began that sequence by firing a pass down the left flank for Lingard. He then lingered well behind the box before getting the ball back. Pogba took one touch to his right, before blasting a 25-yard shot into the near post, once again beating Lossl for a score.

Mathias Jorgensen added Huddersfield's lone tally 10 minutes later to make the score final.

"So happy for three points and two goals at home with our supporters and family there," Pogba tweeted Wednesday. "Have great blessed holidays everyone, loads of love."
