Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Liverpool's Mohamed Salah dribbled through five defenders for a late goal, but the Reds still finished with a draw Sunday against Tottenham.

The star forward scored the first goal of the match in the third minute. He took advantage of a Tottenham error on the play. Spurs defenders fed the ball back to keeper Hugo Lloris on the play, but Salah ran back and intercepted the offering. He finished the goal with a shot to the far post for a 1-0 lead.

Liverpool carried the 1-0 edge into the half. Victor Wanyama booted a striker from about 25 yards out into the upper left corner to tie the match in the 80th minute for Tottenham.

Then Salah came back for the Reds, scoring what looked like the game-winner. He received a pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right side of the pitch, just outside of the box. Salah cut his dribble to fake out one defender, before finding himself surrounded. He somehow escaped the traffic and eventually found himself adjacent to the goal.

Lloris dove at Salah's boot, but it was too late. The striker blasted a shot into the middle of the net for a 2-1 advantage in the first minute of stoppage time.

"It was a fantastic goal, an outstanding goal," Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said after the match, according to the team website. "It was an outstanding performance, [he was] a threat the whole 90 minutes, that's true."

The Liverpool bench erupted after the score, but the celebration was short-lived. Tottenham's Erik Lamela was taken down in the box in the fifth minute of stoppage time. The foul meant star striker Harry Kane could step to the line for a penalty kick.

Kane buried the attempt on the right side to tie the game.
