Oct. 5 (UPI) -- The Miami Dolphins agreed to trade veteran wide receiver Jakeem Grant to the Chicago Bears on Tuesday, a source told UPI on condition of anonymity.

The Dolphins will receive a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft in exchange for the five-year veteran, the source said. Grant, 28, returned eight punts and two kickoffs and made two catches in four games in his sixth season in Miami.

The 5-foot-7, 171-pound wide receiver spent most of his time with the Dolphins on special teams. He totaled a career-high 36 catches for 373 yards and a score in 14 games last season.

Grant averaged 9.7 yards per punt return and scored three punt return touchdowns in his time with the Dolphins. He scored twice on kickoff returns, including an NFL-best 102-yard return for a score in 2018.

Grant caught one pass for negative-7 yards and returned three punts for 13 yards in the Dolphins' loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday in Miami Gardens, Fla. He also lost a fumble on a punt return.

The Dolphins now have DeVante Parker, Jaylen Waddle, Will Fuller, Preston Williams, Albert Wilson and Mack Hollins on the roster as wide receivers.

Waddle is expected to assume Grant's role as a returner on special teams.

Grant is expected to slide in behind Allen Robinson, Darnell Mooney and Marquise Goodwin as a depth option at wide receiver and a punt and kick returner for the Bears.

The Dolphins will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1 p.m. EDT Sunday in Tampa, Fla. The Bears will battle the Las Vegas Raiders at 4:05 p.m. EDT Sunday in Paradise, Nev.
