Safety Eddie Jackson of the Chicago Bears did not practice on Wednesday after sustaining an ankle injury last Sunday in a victory over the Green Bay Packers.

Head coach Matt Nagy, who said Jackson sprained his right ankle on a play in which he intercepted a pass by Aaron Rodgers later in the game, told reporters that the Bears' medical team would monitor the injury over the next few days to see if he can play on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

"We gotta take into consideration our situation, of where we are at," said Nagy, whose Bears (10-4) have clinched the NFC North title and have a chance in the last two games to wrap up a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

Nagy said that he hopes Jackson, who on Tuesday was named to the NFC team for the Pro Bowl in only his second NFL season, will be able to practice later in the week if he is healthy but that he won't be rushed back.

Linebacker Aaron Lynch also missed practice on Wednesday because of a sprained right elbow suffered against the Packers, and the Bears don't figure to rush him back into the lineup either with the playoffs only a few weeks away.
