Jets WR Pryor expected to miss start of camp

New York Jets wide receiver Terrelle Pryor's training camp status is up in the air, head coach Todd Bowles confirmed on Wednesday.

When asked if Pryor would be ready for training camp after arthroscopic surgery in November, Bowles said, "No, he just got his boot removed."

The 28-year-old Pryor had a disappointing season in 2017 with Washington, catching only 20 passes for 240 yards and one touchdown after he signed a one-year, $8 million contract. That was a major drop-off in production after Pryor erupted for 77 receptions for 1,007 yards and four scores the previous season with the Cleveland Browns.

Bowles said it was not yet decided if Pryor would start on the PUP list for training camp.

"Not yet, we will see how his (injury) progress goes over the summer and we will deal with it when we come back," Bowles said. "I can't really tell you right now how he heals fast or slow, so we're just going to take it week-by-week."

Pryor signed a one-year deal for $4.5 million, including $2 million in guaranteed money, with the Jets in March and joins a wide receivers corps that includes Robby Anderson, Jermaine Kearse and Quincy Enunwa.
