The sequence went down with 8:51 remaining in the third quarter of the Patriots' 26-6 victory Sunday at Gillette Stadium. Jets quarterback Bryce Petty stepped back and threw a pass deep to the left side, intended for Anderson. Anderson caught the ball, but the pass was ruled incomplete because he was pushed out of bounds. The failed pass attempt resulted in a third down.
Anderson walked over toward the water coolers and threw the football on the ground with ferocity. Bademosi was sporting his team jacket and pacing around in the area. The ball bounced off of the turf and drilled the defensive back in the helmet. Bademosi initially jerked his head back slightly. He then jerked his entire body backward onto the ground, losing his jacket.
No flags were thrown on the play.
"Down goes Frazier," CBS announcer Tony Romo said on the broadcast.
"And he's out," fellow color commentator Jim Nantz said. "You get hit by a rock to the chin. It couldn't feel great. Was it acting?"
Anderson had just one catch for two yards in the loss. Bademosi had one tackle for the Patriots.
Ironically, one of the players did suffer a head injury in the AFC East affair. Anderson suffered a concussion after a hit from Stephon Gillmore.
