Fantasy football: Miami Dolphins' Kenyan Drake could be dark horse RB2 to take you to glory

Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Damien Williams is not expected to play for the Miami Dolphins in Week 13, making Kenyan Drake the team's lead running back.

Williams was forced out of Sunday's game after suffering a dislocated shoulder in the third quarter. He was tackled by New England Patriots linebacker David Harris before being carted off of the field. Sources told NFL Network that Williams had an MRI on Monday morning, but his injury has a typical timetable of two to three weeks.

A league source confirmed the dislocated shoulder to the Miami Herald. That source also said the Dolphins believe he will play again this season.

The fourth-year running back has started four games for the Dolphins, since the team traded away Jay Ajayi to the Philadelphia Eagles on Halloween.

Miami lost the AFC East clash 35-17. But the Dolphins also lost Senorise Perry to a concussion and Williams to his ailment.

That leaves Drake as the only healthy option on the team's depth chart at running back. Expect the Dolphins to promote a player from the practice squad to add some depth if Williams or Perry can't suit up in Week 13.

Miami hosts the Denver Broncos next Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium. The Broncos rank No. 4 agains the run this season, allowing just 87.2 yards per game and a league-best 3.2 yards per carry.

Drake had 47 yards from scrimmage, a touchdown and a fumble on 12 touches in Sunday's loss. He has now scored a touchdown in two of his last three games. Williams had 52 yards from scrimmage on 11 touches in Sunday's loss. He has one touchdown this season.

Expect a major role increase for Drake if Williams misses multiple weeks. He will be a low-end RB2 in Sunday's tough matchup against the Broncos, but Drake could help you out down the stretch with matchups against the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts to start the fantasy football playoffs.

The Colts have allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to running backs this year. The Jets just allowed 145 yards and two scores on the ground in Week 12 to the Carolina Panthers.
