Oct. 4 (UPI) -- After spending the last nine years in prison for armed robbery and kidnapping, O.J. Simpson has found his way onto a putting green.
Simpson, 70, was spotted working on his short game this week at the home where he is staying in Las Vegas. He was released from prison on Sunday.
The former NFL running back was first spotted at a gas station by paparazzi after his release. ABC news released photos of Simpson on Wednesday, showing him sporting a Titleist golf visor and a polo shirt while holding a putter. There is also a photo of him eyeing the hole of a backyard putting green and another of him relaxing by a pool.
"He's going to focus on kids, friends, his family and golf," Simpson's friend Tom Scotto recently told CNN. "Maybe not the first day or second, but he is going to go out."
Two of Simpson's children live in the Tampa Bay area. Simpson's lawyer told the New York Times that his client also plans to move to the state.
Florida attorney general Pam Bondi has made it known that Simpson is not welcome in the state.
"Our state should not become a country club for this convicted criminal," Bondi wrote Friday in a three-page letter to the Florida Department of Corrections.

"Other than his just complete lack of remorse, he wants to come to Florida and golf all over our state," Bondi told Fox News on Oct. 1. "I don't want that to happen."
In 1999, Sports Illustrated reported that Simpson's handicap was about a 10.
TMZ Sports also published photos of the home Simpson is temporarily staying in. The 5,000 square foot house includes five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, according to the report.
Simpson was originally sentenced to 33 years in jail for his crimes but was paroled at the earliest possible time. He is not allowed to drink alcohol in excess or associate with ex-convicts during his parole.
