Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Nine-year veteran Brandon Flowers has decided to retire from the NFL.
Flowers, 31, will make the official announcement on Tuesday, according to the NFL Network. He is currently a free agent after spending his last three seasons with the San Diego Chargers. Flowers was a second round pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2008 NFL Draft. He played six seasons for the Chiefs, making his lone Pro Bowl appearance in 2013.
