Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Dominique Easley is out for the season after an MRI confirmed a torn ACL, according to multiple reports Wednesday.

Easley went down with a knee injury during a full scrimmage on Tuesday. The fourth-year veteran was helped off the field by two trainers and then carted to the locker room.

The 25-year-old Easley, a former first-round pick, suffered multiple knee injuries during his career. He tore the ACL in each of his knees in college at Florida and also saw a knee injury cut short his rookie season in 2014 with the New England Patriots.

Injury concerns were part of the reason the Patriots cut the 6-foot-2, 273-pound Easley in April 2016 after just two seasons. He ended both seasons in New England on injured reserve, the second in 2015 with an injured thigh.

The Rams signed Easley last year and he had a productive season with 35 tackles and 3.5 sacks.

Easley was set to start on a defensive line that included Michael Brockers and Aaron Donald, who is holding out while seeking a restructured contract.

Rams coach Sean McVay described the situations regarding Easley and Donald as "concerning."

"Well, I think when you're talking about two very good players that are potentially unavailable, that's a concerning thing," McVay said after Tuesday's practice. "We would love for Aaron to be here and we'd love for Dominique to get a good report where he is healthy, but if that is not the situation then we have to be ready to react accordingly."
