The Miami Dolphins addressed a depth problem at cornerback by signing veteran Alterraun Verner on Tuesday.

The team also placed linebacker Koa Misi on injured reserve.

Verner went to the Pro Bowl in 2013 while with the Tennessee Titans, and that enabled him to get a four-year deal worth $26.5 million with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after that season.

However, the cornerback started only six games in 2015 and just three in 2016 before being waived by the Bucs in February.

Misi is sidelined with a neck injury. Coach Adam Gase said on Tuesday that he believes Misi will play again, but it won't be in 2017. Players need to be on the initial 53-man roster to be eligible to return to action that season.
