Free agent quarterback Robert Griffin III is scheduled to work out for the Los Angeles Chargers on Tuesday, according to multiple reports.

Griffin has spent the offseason training in Florida with former Cleveland Browns assistant coach Pep Hamilton.

The former Heisman Trophy winner and 2012 Offensive Rookie of the Year completed 59.2 percent of his passes with two touchdowns and three interceptions in five games last season for the Browns. Griffin led the club to its only win -- over the Chargers on Christmas Eve -- but was released March 10 after Cleveland acquired quarterback Brock Osweiler in a trade with the Houston Texans.

Griffin, 27, would join a crowded quarterback room in Los Angeles, which is led by Philip Rivers and includes Kellen Clemens, Mike Bercovici and Eli Jenkins.

The former second overall pick in the 2012 draft by the Washington Redskins has now been released by two teams. He spent four seasons in Washington but lost his job to Kirk Cousins and did not play a down in 2015.
